On August 10, 2020 Iowa and surrounding states were hit by a derecho, a widespread, long-lived, straight-line windstorm that caused catastrophic damage across the state. It is estimated over $11 Billion of damage across the Midwest, the most costly thunderstorm in US history. This does not include the loss of benefits of the estimated 4,424,426 trees in urban areas that were damaged or lost. What is next?
