Opening reception Sunday October 2 from 1-3 PM Hughes Educational Center
“River Stories: Views from an Iowa Watershed,” a community photo exhibit is coming to the Iowa Arboretum. The exhibit was created by a group of six area women landowners this spring. Courtney Turnis, Chris Henning, Jan Kaiser, Danielle Wirth, Patti Edwardson, and Colleen Radebaugh documented their experiences in the watershed through photographs and short narratives, or “photostories.”
The Arboretum will host an opening reception on Sunday, October 2 from 1-3 in the Hughes Education Center. The event is free. The storyboards will remain on exhibit for one week. The Hughes Education Center is open weekdays 9-4; Saturdays 10-4; Sundays noon-4.
River Stories is co-sponsored by Women, Food and Agriculture Network and the Raccoon River Watershed Association. The project is possible thanks to funding from the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University.
