The Iowa Arboretum is a serene location for your wedding. We have both indoor and outdoor rental facilities. Choose from the Hughes Education Center, the Beckwith Grand Pavilion, the Jones Memorial Gazebo or any one of our beautiful gardens to make your day memorable. We will also keep the Hughes Education Center available at no extra cost in the event of inclement weather. Arboretum staff, working with the wedding party, will make the final decision as to ceremony location should the weather be uncooperative.

A $300 deposit is required to reserve the date for your special day and is non-refundable. Usage of our kitchen facilities for a rehearsal dinner is $250. We have a removable dance floor available for $200. We also have a personnel carrier that can be used on the grounds to transport guests with walking difficulties. Please see the rental fees for additional information.

If you have reserved the Arboretum for your reception, you will have access to the kitchen facilities which include a full size catering fridge. You are allowed to use the Arboretum’s coffee makers. We do not allow the use of the Arboretum’s dishes, silverware or table clothes. Please see the catering page (Catering Companies) for a list of some of the local caterers who have worked here before.

The Iowa Arboretum is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.

The Iowa Arboretum is open to the public. This holds true even when the facilities are reserved for weddings and receptions. Whenever possible, we will request that visitors avoid the wedding area but they have the right to walk the grounds, be in the lobby or gift shop and use the restrooms. We will not schedule bus tours during the time of the wedding and will do our utmost to help make your wedding day a very special occasion.
