Four Seasons Family Series - Winter Bird Watching @ Hughes Education Center

Whether you are already an avid bird watcher or just getting started, come spend a morning indoors gazing on feathered friends at the Arbortetum’s bird feeders. Nan Bonfils will lead an activity to help us sort out why there are so many different kinds of feeders and why we need so many different kinds of seeds. Karl Jungbluth will teach the basics of bird identification as we check a variety of species and feeder behavior. We have invited Linda and Tom Thomas, from Wild Birds Unlimited (Ames) to prepare us for the 17th Annual Great Backyard Bird Count coming up later in February. Each family will make a bird feeder to take home.

Fee: $10 per family per class for Arboretum members and $15 per family non-members. Click here to Register
