The first major storm blanketed the Arboretum with a fresh carpet of snow. A short walk reveals many wonderful gifts of nature. The oak leaf remains as a single soldier in the morning sun. The apple tree holds onto its shadow and fruit. The winter waves in the snow provide a glimpse of the power of wind.
One of the best places to see trees and their fall colors is the Iowa Arboretum.
While wandering through the Arboretum, day dream about the ‘Dream Legacy’ Daylilies. These flowers are in full bloom, along with all the other perennials brightening up the Perennial Garden.
